Former President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.

He added that he conversed with her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a attack on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump informed journalists. “And likewise with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Public Support

Mourners assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both they had been working with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to assist public safety in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that instructors wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that lifted those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to assist people.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Officials have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of first-degree murder and charges of violent assault while armed.

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, according to the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” he told the crowd at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to last forever.”
