The former president's Family Member Receives Expert Tips from Tiger Woods Before LPGA First Appearance
The rising star boasts considerable social media following
Kai Trump can count on numerous prominent backers when she begins her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, was granted a special exemption to play at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates numerous courses worldwide and often competes against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have some close matches," she mentioned.
Kai explained that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just stay calm."
"He basically told me to play and relax," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He's not attending this weekend. He's busy with world affairs, so he's rather occupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has participated in just three tournaments this year and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
However she can seek guidance from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with Vanessa.
"He stands as the top athlete in the world," the young golfer said.
"And he's a superior human being. He suggested me to play, have fun, following the flow."
The golfer will compete against some of top competitors in women's golf at the competition, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that involving Kai helps introduce golf to new audiences, specifically with the next generation.
The social media influencer has millions of followers and has started her own fashion and living company.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
