Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the jet's front window, according to an official statement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The plane touched down in accordance with standard protocol and all passengers, including Pete Hegseth, is safe," a press officer stated in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to Brussels at the time.
This incident isn't the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a senior official has experienced mechanical issues.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Marco Rubio to Munich was required to return to Washington after experiencing a technical issue.
