Britain's shortest-serving prime minister, began the first edition of her video series with a promise to reveal "the evil-doers" working to weaken the UK, United States and European nations. She explained she would reveal how an "international network of progressives operate to subvert democracy and the electorate's mandate."

"We're going to look at the Maga phenomenon and understand how it can be achieved in Britain," she said. "We'll be talking to the prominent voices of the Make America Great Again campaign."

In advance of the show's launch, there was one particularly enthusiastic supporter. "This represents the dawn of a type of transformation," said the controversial US journalist. His conservative Just the News will publish the Truss's new broadcasts.

Establishing Ties in the Maga Media Ecosystem

British fellow travellers, such as a counselor supportive of Reform, played a role in her launch the her new show. Its staging is competent, if basic. The show has attracted a subscriber base of 10k in her first week and her debut achieved sixty-seven thousand views during that week.

This marks a humble beginning, but in making common cause with Solomon, the former PM is being entering a well-developed right-wing media network creating and spreading Make America Great Again themes. Central preoccupations encompass accusations of information control by the mainstream media and a aim to remove a conspiratorial 'deep state' – a force that she attributes her downfall to for the swift end of her disastrous time in office.

"Solomon's outlet is not well-known beyond the pro-Trump media sphere, but it does have gravitas there, primarily thanks to Solomon, who offers opinions on conservative outlets like Steve Bannon's War Room and has even interviewed the former president," noted an anthropology expert, who has analyzed the Make America Great Again phenomenon.

A Contentious Ally

Her effort to bring American conservative media to the UK has pushed her closer to controversial figures such as Solomon.

He founded Just the News following scrutiny after he was accused of circulating false stories about Joe Biden's anticorruption effort in the Ukraine, as well as contentious articles about the former US ambassador to that country.

Solomon's reporting were amplified within the pro-Trump media, with the journalist featuring as a common interviewee on Sean Hannity's influential Fox News program. Donald Trump boosted his stories.

He wrote the reports about Ukraine in a series of columns for the outlet The Hill, where he was re-labelled as a columnist after colleagues complained about his work. These reports were key in Trump's pressure for the officials in Kyiv to investigate the Bidens in 2019. These actions resulted in impeachment proceedings against the president. Senators later acquitted the commander-in-chief.

Not long after Solomon left the Hill in October 2019, the publication announced it was carrying out a review of his columns relating to Ukraine. It concluded he had used untrustworthy contacts and said he "failed to identify key facts about primary contacts in Ukraine, including the detail that they had been charged or were being probed."

Joining the Network

The journalist's personal media appearances are a sign of the political media environment Liz Truss is entering. He talked about his backing of Truss's project on a broadcast he helps run on Real America's Voice, a conservative television outlet that is where you find the pro-Trump commentator Steve Bannon and on which former Fox host Tucker Carlson also is seen. She has already interviewed Bannon on a debut installment.

In linking up with Solomon and Just the News, she has become a niche participant in a much wider network of pro-Trump platforms that routinely amplify each other's content.

The journalist's programs have often featured figures such as influencer Mike Benz, a rightwing influencer whose criticism of the foreign aid agency was referenced by Elon Musk as grounds for shutting down the government body.

A Cross-Border Foray

Even though Truss's stilted style and political travails have invited ridicule at home, certain American analysts are taking seriously her efforts to reinvent herself as a UK offshoot of the pro-Trump media ecosystem.

"It is necessary to treat individuals such as her seriously, although you may not want to interpret them word-for-word," commented Rob Flaherty, who served in the Biden White House.

"Observers witnessed how in the recent campaign Donald Trump leveraged that alternative press to spread his narrative. Without a doubt that sphere spreads and shapes debate overseas. It seems quite apparent to me that the conditions in the Britain are similar to what allowed this alternative media ecosystem to prosper in America."

a political theory expert, said the online conservative ecosystem was already having an impact in the United Kingdom.

"Digital media transcends national boundaries," he said. "There exists a sort of atmosphere within which content circulates – at times manifesting in radical ways and other times more moderately – but which is connected."

The academic said the growth of the online right in the UK lately meant the "chance to have a larger effect is significant."
