'Enduring a Horrific Ordeal': Relatives of Unaccounted For Young People Await Information After Alpine Blaze
The relatives of teenagers missing after a tragic inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are enduring an painful period of uncertainty for official news and appealing for information about their loved ones publicly.
The fire ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Verified footage reveal the roof structure catching alight as beverages with fireworks are raised in celebration.
Emergency services have stated that it could take considerable time to identify the those who perished of the fire, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and wounded another over a hundred. The Italian government has confirmed that a number of of its nationals are still unaccounted for.
Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage sportsman, originally from Italy but now living in Dubai.
The Italian Golf Federation has stated that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the fire, honoring a "talented young man who embodied passion and true sportsmanship."
