The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Top Visual Design.

Complementing the developer's success, its gifted performers also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English received Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers won seven awards during the show.

Other standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Top Sound Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the public, with only 4 special—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—judged by critics.
