This Mediterranean cooking retreat, based at a riverside villa in the central Algarve, is draws inspiration from the vegetarian dishes of celebrated cooks. Maritime Singing Weekend in St Ives
St Ives is the ideal location for a maritime music retreat. Guests will be taught historic sailing songs from a experienced musician, and have a go at writing their own. There will be voice exercises, breathing exercises, performance tips and a final evening concert. The retreat is based at a country house overlooking St Ives Bay. Full board are included, including a traditional tea on the first day, breakfast options, packed lunches and evening meals. Traditional rum, unfortunately, is not included. Author and tutor an experienced instructor leads the regular sessions on this authors' getaway. He covers everything from story structure, characters, setting and tension, to submitting work to publishers. Greg’s wife, the well-known writer Kate Mosse, will participate in events at the start and finish of the retreat. The holiday is held at a village-style hotel in Vamos at the base of the Lefka Ori – ten one- and two-bedroom cottages surround a garden and pool (companions are encouraged to come along).
